  Had problem with the booking.com reservation/cancellation system - just wanted to let anyone know they should call the resort directly for reservations. Way easier and much better service. Whole stay was excellent - special thanks to Suzanne for helping with the problems and making the stay excellent. Evening front desk clerk (2 to 10 PM) can't remember her name was also fantastic. Lakeview is lucky to have these two people on staff.

  The hotel is beautiful & quaint. Even in the winter, the hotel was steady. While I have not stayed in the rooms, I have visited some of the shops & the coffee shop. The shops offered a good selection of local fare & artisans while providing the usual tourist stuff too. The hotel has a beautiful view of the lake & is located within the heart of Gimli.

  We went in the winter and the temperature was nearly impossible to regulate. Either the room was extremely hot or cold. Needless to say you were getting up every couple of hours to adjust the antiquated heater. The TV quality was atrocious and there aren't enough plugs in the rooms for laptops and phones.

  The only good thing I can say about the hotel is that the beds are comfortable and the shower is very good.

  The front desk staff were not very helpful and to say that they were rude would be inaccurate, they are more dismissive and apathetic then anything.

  Great location. The rooms are a little outdated and require an upgrade. The front desk staff wasn't very welcoming. Too expensive for what you get.

  Rent out a big room to hold Christmas dinner with the Grandparents in town, rooms are always clean and staff is always accommodating. We're even able to provide tables and extra chairs for our family feast!
